Oils
I have only a desire to paint what is my own – wholly and completely from within – along with the offerings of the earth and her daily miracles of color and light. When I begin a painting, I take inspiration from a beautiful light, color, form or texture and then continue working through observation.
My love of art started early, as my mother often pointed out nature's beauty in a sunset or a cloud-filled sky. I love oil on canvas to portray both realism and my abstract work, with color, shape, texture and value. Teachers and role models inspired me, so I know how vital teachers are to the students in their care.
Oils
I live in TN with my husband, daughter and our little boy. I teach at Studio 212 in Maryville. With a life steeped in film and studio arts, you'll find motion and dance in my visual storytelling. I love to paint the beauty of the human condition and its balance of long-suffering and goodness.
Colored Pencil
Teresa Pennington is a self-taught colored pencil artist with a talent she says is God-given. Often spending as much as four months on one drawing, she meticulously renders the scenery, landmarks, flora and fauna of Western North Carolina with an emphasis on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Oils
Kelly is an American Representational Painter with a varied and expansive artistic background. Born and raised in the Appalachians of Western North Carolina, she uses elements from the landscape with its flora and fauna to compose beautiful and imaginative paintings and portraits.
Oils
I describe my style as "painterly realism" in oil, and strive for clear color, a strong focal point, and a good design. Living in Western North Carolina provides all the subject matter one could ever desire. We are surrounded by our beautiful natural world.
Oils
I moved from realism to impressionism to capture lines, shapes, lights, and shadows as dancing colors of our lives, bringing depth and movement. I follow my heart and the mood of the day, mixing oils directly on canvas, pushing and turning to create engaging textures and colors.
PLEASE DO CHAT WITH ME AS I CREATE!
Alongside your one-hour focused painters, meet QuickDraw demo artists creating in slower mediums like clay, wood, wax, fiber, textile, or metal, whose processes cannot be completed in the hour. Their lack of time constraint lets you engage and chat with them during the QD hour.
Enjoy, watch and learn as they bring to life some of the many steps involved in creating their works. Demo artists bring an already-made art piece that you can bid on and buy in the silent auction!

My mountain-inspired collection pays homage to the beauty of the Appalachian mountains. Designs are subtle and organic, with a play of textures and finishes that evoke nature at its best.
